Snow Drops

Photo taken by Sei-Him Cheong

Here come another photo taken by my brother.
This is one of the necklaces for my sisters, but all of them like 'Queen in Black'.
So, I would make more for them after my exams.
And I would save this necklace for others occasions.

Queen in Black

Photo taken by Sei-Him Cheong

This necklace was specially made for one of my sisters as a Christmas present.
In fact, I have made 2 necklaces for them, plus planning to make a brooch for my eldest sister after my exams in January.

This photo was taken by my youngest brother.
We spent about an hour taking pictures of necklaces I've made recently on Christmas day.

Antique Romance

Photo taken by Sei-Him Cheong

This necklace was made as required by my mother for her friend as a Christmas present.
The necklace was antisymmetric and the Y-shape shows the elegant outline of women neck and shoulder.

The photo was taken by my youngest brother who is a photographer and an engineering student at the same time.

Sparkling Amethyst

This bracelet was made for Jessie as a birthday present on 25th December.
I was unable to join them for lunch today as I have back to Basildon. Although it takes about 1 hour to London, I'm doing my revisions at home.
Wish her a happy birthday and enjoy her lunch with others.

Paris

Going to Paris tomorrow for 3 days.
Have to get up in the early morning to get the train at 6.30 am from St. Pancras Station to Paris.
I think the train takes about 2 h 30 min.
Paris, I'm coming!!!

Earrings for X'mas

Earrings for my flatmates in London.
Hopefully, they would like it.
I thought of making phone charms for my friends in the college.
As I'm quite busy doing my revisions, I didn't make them.
Well, they all have a phone charm I made last Christmas.
So, hopefully they won't mind.
Wish everyone has a cheerful Christmas!!!

Key

I have been thinking a lot recently.
Thinking about all sort of things, my courses, musics, revisions, family...
Why am I working so hard in my study and job?
I can't find an answer, not even a reason.

I am looking for a key.
A key to open a lock to free myself from stress and negative thinkings.
Or may be to open a door so I can escape from this breatheless workloads.

Trip to Paris

I was supposed to work on my report which have to be handed in on Monday.
But I really get fed up with it.
So, I took a short break to make these 2 stamps.
Only took me 10 minutes to make them.
I think I'm getting faster in making stamps, haha ^o^

I'm going to Paris with 4 others on 17th. This is the first time we're going out for a trip.
I think most of us haven't been to Paris yet, so it's would be exciting!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is coming!!!
I have received Christmas cards, so I'm giving them these handmade mini cards in return.

Wish you all having a Merry X'mas.
(It might be a bit early to say that :P)

Revolution of Crystal Dreams

This was freshly made just now. I gave the Crystal Dreams bracelet to my friend, Lan, but the bracelet kept falling apart. Because the STS wire was too soft so the closed loop became loose. Therefore, I made her another bracelet, it is a revolution of that bracelet, what I did was just close up the wire in a more secure way. So if the bracelet falls apart again, it would be her that has to be blamed not me :P

Well, as Lan likes rose quartz, I actually included some of them in the bracelet, and fluorites as well. I hope she'll like the replacement ^o^

Autumn Passion

I'm back to renew my blog. Well, I haven't had much free times recently due to my degree course. I spend half of my day in the lab doing practical, follow by the reports I have to write over the weekends, so really have no mood to do anything at nights.

However, I managed to finish this necklace for my mother just now. I have just received the STS chains by post today, so just quickly made this. This was for autumn, but it's already winter (Don't say I'm wrong cos it's freezing outside!)

I have taken 2 pictures of this necklace, the round disks are really big. So, a very chunky look of this necklace if worn. Actually, I got these beads from Buffy's Beads in Kingly Court, London. There are a lot of gemstones you can choose from, and at reasonable prices.

I'm going out to Chinatown tomorrow with my friends to celebrate my birthday. Well, my birthday is actually on Friday, but I usually going back to Basildon in the evening. So, we celebrate earlier.

Clover

I just made this set for my flatmate, her birthday was last Friday. But as I was very busy on that day, I couldn't get around to celebrate her birthday. So, I just use a bit of my time to make this today. As I have one report to hand in and a Japanese test tomorrow, I didn't spend too much times in this. The earrings were simple to make as I mentioned before, the clover pendant wasn't complicated as well.

Crystal Dreams

I just made this bracelet yesterday for Lan, as I promised to give her a birthday present, although her birthday was already passed. Well, she is moving to Canada after her degree, so I think we don't have much time to meet each other, this bracelet is like a souvenir for her. When I gave it to her this morning, I was very gald that she likes it. It always make me happy when someone likes the things I make. Well, it gives me a sense of fulfilment.

I was planning to set up a club in my university about jewellery making, but I'm very busy in my practicals and lecture courses. I don't think I really have times to set it up, plus I'm a bit getting fed up with everything. Maybe I should take a break >_<

Spring of Flower

Getting mad with my practical works and lecture courses. All these works are killing me, so my only joy is surfing the internet for some inspirations so I can make something nice and great later on for the Christmas.

Well, the flower pendant is made of mother of pearl and faceted rose quartz. I also made a pair of matching earrings, but I gave the earrings and necklace to my friend in Malaysia, so I couldn't take a picture of them now. In fact, I took this picture a long long while ago. Well, I have the method from a Japanese website,
Beads Mania. The recipe section has a lot of projects.

I just amend the diagram so you can read in English.

Snow White

Simple and elegant necklace made especially for party or wedding, it's also great to be worn casually. I'm particularly interested in making jewelry that looks grand and elegant. Because, I always think of making them for my mother. She's a great mother and I want her to look great all the times. However, this one isn't really suit her, I think it suits someone youthful, yet elegant.

I don't keep the jewelry I made with me, instead I gave them to the friends around me and to my sisters as well. I didn't realise that until my brother asked me a week ago, he said I'm wasting time and money. Well, I don't think so as I get lots of fun and there is also a sense of fulfilment and achievement when I can make someone happy. Well, I haven't given this necklace to anybody as I haven't found its owner, so I might just keep the necklace until I find the right one.

As my course is very demanding, I don't have time drawing out the method, so if anyone interested in anything I made can e-mail me or leave me a message, then I'll try my best to help. I would certainly post it out on my blog if I draw out any method. I'll also try my best not to miss out too many posts.

Chunky Quartz

Sorry to miss out so many posts recently. Well, my college has started so I don't have much time in jewelry making. I'm busy doing practical works in the lab and struggling the lecture courses.

These are too easily made chunky pendants, each one is on a long chain which you can wear with any outfit. Well, I think it suits best with knitwear. You can simply make this with a long head pin and a chunky faceted stone. The colour and size of the stone is your choice, make some different ones and you can interchange the pendants which the colour of your cloth and mood.

Sparkling Green

I have bought some beads from the bead shop in Covent Garden, so simply make a pair of earrings. The earrings were extremely simple to make, all you need are a pair of eye pins with ball and a pair of faceted drop beads. Well, I think the eye pins have to be thick, 0.8mm thick would be ideal. Try make ones for yourself or they'll be a great gift for the one you love and care.

Heart with Flowers

I bought the rose beads a long time ago, I couldn't think of what to make by that time. So when I saw the red round beads with textures in London, I remember I have seen a heart motif made of these materials from a bead book I bought last year. Although I didn't follow the method exactly from the book, the result wasn't too bad. In fact, I'm quite pleased with that. I can attach it with a mobile phone strap, it can then be hanged on a mobile phone or on a handbag.

Earrings Holder

My college has just started so I don't have many times in jewellery making. That's why I miss out so many posts this week. Well, I made an earrings holder today, this was from a japanese bead book. As I don't have many spare times, I just used the diagram from the book and added some explanations in English. This was very simple to make, yet decorate your place nicely. Try out using other beads and colours.

Flower hairband

This hair band is perfect for any girl with long hair. The method of making is included.

This was my second trial to draw out the graphic solution. Well, I think it wasn't too bad. I drew all the shapes in Words, then retouch in Photoshop. I think I won't have many times in this as my college is about to start, only 1 week left. Try my best to draw out as much as I can then post it on the blog if I have time.

Romantic Garden

I have made these a long long time ago. But I tried to draw a picture showing the method. Well, this is my first trial to draw out the graphic solution. If you don't understand the picture, you can leave me a message, I'll try my best to help you.

You can find the materials on this website:
grove beads.

The length of bracelet depends on the size of your wrist. You can vary the length by increasing the number of motif or the length of the string of rose quartz chips. You can try using other colours and gemstones, like the other one I made using citrine chips. For example, amethyst chips with light amethyst 5305 beads and dark amethyst 5301 beads. Just choose the colour you like.

Sparkling Aquamarine

This bracelet was made a long time ago. I think this was the first one I made using wire. I wasn't so keen on wire work at first, I was rather focusing on weaving techniques with seed beads and crystal beads to make motifs.

This one was especially made for myself, as I don't always wear jewellery like necklaces. But I do like bracelets and rings, so I have made a lot of those. I will upload some picture of rings I made later.

Gifts & Magazine

I have received 2 packages on Saturday. One from my friend, she posted it before she's going on her trip around Europe, and the other one is the Japanese magazine I ordered online a week ago.

The magazine has a fabulous section on gemstones and great necklaces made of gemstones.

Ocean's Blue

I have made another bracelet, ready to be shipped to my friend in Malaysia. I was going to meet her in London but she won't have time after the trip to Europe. This bracelet would be the last one to be made as I run out of STS toggle clasps. I couldn't make anything before I order some new stocks as I particularly like to use toggle clasps (easier to use than trigger or lobster clasps).

I realised I haven't talked about why I have made many bracelets recently. First thing is bracelets are shorter compared to necklaces, hence easier to make. Plus, I have bought some good quality sterling silver wire 0.5mm, which is half hard. It's hard enough for these wire workings as I have used 0.5mm STS wire which was softer before, and I found it's too soft. Well, just get some experiences working with wire. Then, I would step forwards to make something more complicated.

Devil

I made the stamp of Devil in the night after the Angel stamp, I wasn't too lazy after all.

Then, I tried to make a short story using these 2 cute stamps:
This is what I think as my college starts in October. Then, I would have loads of coursework and revisions to do. T.T

Angel

Here comes something different, no jewellery but a stamp. I haven't made a lot recently as I focus on jewellery making.

Well, I drew this a long time ago but I just lazy to make the stamp. This cute angel was not originally designed by me, I think it's from a Japanese magazine. Forgive me for forgetting the magazine name as it's drawn a long while ago. I also have the design of the devil, I would make it if I'm not too lazy.

The first time I came across handmade stamps was a Japanese blog that have many designs of stamps and artworks. If you are interested you can visit the
blog, but it is in Japanese though. However, the stamps on the blog are really great pieces of works.

Beautiful Butterfly

This was made a long time ago. Well, just put this up so that I don't miss too many posts. This was made especially for my mother so that she can put it on her new LV handbag. I would say Swarovski crystals are really sparkling and good quality. Actually, I made 2 of these, one was red which was given to my sister. We don't live together so I can't take a photo of it.

Amethyst

Just made another bracelet for my friend in Malaysia. Her birthday is on 14th, although it's late, I hope she wouldn't mind when she gets it.

I think the design is too simple, don't know what I can add on to make it more special. I'll think about that, and maybe add something on it.

The bracelet was made of faceted amethyst which would sparkle and round fluorite beads. Amethyst is stone of mind and love. It enhances attention and memory and also increase people's confidence. Perfect for my friend who just starts to work in Malaysia.

Moonlight

I made this necklace 2 days ago. This was not the original design, it was supposed to be more grand in appearance and to suit my mother. However, I changed it as I think I should make one which is more casual and it'll fit any outfit.

This necklace was made of moonstone and crystal quartz. Moonstone is a stone of wishes, intuition, and balance. It's perfect for someone who need to soothe and balance the emotions, the stone is also believed to bring success in love.

Summer

I made this long before summer. However, I always forgot to post this.
I have the idea of making this bracelet, but having difficulties to find beads with big holes. So once I found these gemstones with big holes, I made this summer-feeling bracelets. This was easy to make, just knot using hemp. But the hemp has to be thick to give the chunky looking.

After having vacation in Malaysia, I went shopping in London last week and found these red/orange gemstones with big holes. I made another one.

Friendship

I have a friend from Malaysia studying a summer course in Sheffield. She will leave in early of October. Therefore, I made her a bracelet as a gift. Hope she would love this.

Well, I decided to give this to another friend whose birthday is in September. Hope she doesn't mind it's too late when I ship it out.

Horizon

Sitting in front of all the beads and materials I have, I couldn't think of what to make. When I searched for inspiration from books, I scanned through a dolphin, just realised I have silver charm of it. Then, I decided to make a necklace.

The necklace is easy to make, just choose the colour, gemstones and charm you like.

Ocean's Pearl

This was made especially for my mother as a Christmas present.
It can be a necklace or a bracelet.

I like the idea of 2-way wearing.
It can be quite formal to wear it as a necklace.
However, when it's a bracelet, it's more casual.
It's simply elegant!

Simply Pearls

I made a necklace for mum, simply made of pearls and a white stone.
It can be worn in 2 ways, round the neck with the pearls in the front, or the white stone in the front.

I always like to see things in 2 ways, just like making necklaces.
Then, you might find another way out, another point of view.

Sunflower ring

Just made a sunflower ring using gemstone chipsand seed beads.
Although the weather is windy and cold recently, hopefully it'll be sunny soon.
