My Cookbook is now LIVE from iBookstore!

If you have followed me on Facebook, you might have already known that I was working on my cookbook "Everyday Desserts" in the past few months.

It is now LIVE and selling in all major markets around the world.

I always wanted to self-publish a cookbook with photographs & recipes that I like, & it'd been a great challenge for me.

The photographs & recipes have already been published in this blog so I'm releasing it completely FREE.

Unfortunately, it is exclusively for iPad because it was created using the free Apple software - iBook Author.

When the software was first released, I was inspired to make the cookbook.

It's been a lot of hard work as I'm also finishing my Ph.D in September.

I'll not update the blog too often but I'll be happy to answer any questions on emails or here.

Scenes from Lake District & Orange Cheesecake for Summer

Recipe! I've finally got some times in the kitchen for cakes.

I've been away & also quite busy after the trip to Turin.

I went to Lake District for a short break with my family about a month ago.

Now it's July & it's summer, finally.

Everytime when I want to bake, chocolate is my top list.

As the sunshine finally out of the clouds in UK, I think it's time to have a more summery treat.

A chilled orange cheesecake, not so difficult to make & it will make a great dessert for barbecue.

Be Jenny's Guest at Le Cordon Bleu

This post isn't about me, it's about my sister, Jenny.

I was invited to be her guest to the afternoon tea party at Le Cordon Bleu in London.

A place where she has trainings to become a superb patisserie one day.

On that special day, I went to Le Cordon Bleu with my mum & brother just for the tea party.

Indulgent entremets, lovely pastries & freshly baked scones with home-made jam & clotted cream were offered, along with a selection of teas.

Apart from enjoying the cakes, I had also taken some photos showcasing those pretty cakes made by the students on the day.

Mother's Day & A Sweet Paradise

March is a very busy month, family birthdays & mother's day.

I've baked 3 cakes including this one this month.

 I made 'Jasmin' again for mother's day since my mum likes it.

My sister Kelly suggested to put in some bird's nest (燕窝) in the jelly so I did.
This time I made it into a simple round-shape & garnished with white chocolate shards.
Spring has come & camellia has started to bloom in the front garden so I took a few for garnish.

My patissier-to-be sister Jenny had made us some chocolate macarons & a delicious blueberry cheesecake.

At the end of the day, we're a bit overwhelmed by the desserts.

One Apple, Two Blueberry Cheesecakes & Three A Trip to Lewes

It’s my friend’s birthday and she had special request for a baked cheesecake.

So, the night before I met her, I baked, not one but two small cheesecakes.

The recipe was actually for a 8” cake but we’re going to a historical & lovely town called Lewes.

It’s not a good idea to bring a giant 8” cake around.

The little cheesecake turned out great with simple arrangement of poached apples & my friend loved it :)

I cooked some blueberry jam & simply spread over the other cheesecake which I brought to my mum the next day when we had lunch together.

Lewes was an adorable town, full of antique shops, cozy cafe & cute crafts stores.

There is also a big flea market & it's like treasure hunting :)

Travelling to Wales

Walking along seaside from Swansea to Mumbles.

Drank a mocha while waiting for my brother, we went to Caswell Bay for a walk.

The next day, we drove from Swansea to Snowdonia National Park, across the valley, across the seaside into the wood.

At dawn, we waited for the sun to rise at Barmouth.

After breakfast, we started a new journey to the north & drove pass a beautiful & quiet lake.

Arriving at Llanberis, we walked over an elevation of 1000m to Snowdon Summit, one place closer to heaven.

The Glimmering Night in Prague

My friend & I went on a trip to Prague in the early October.

We booked the tickets & accommodation through easyJet & got on the plane from London.

We went out almost every night taking photos all over Prague.

The apartment we stayed was within walking distance to the central of the city.

There are many nice things to see & do all over.

My first night in Prague was amazing.

We had a fabulous meal at a Czech restaurant before the puppet show ‘Don Giovanni’ which I had booked through National Marionette Theatre.

The show was played in Czech but if you know the story you would follow & be definitely amused.

After the show, we went for a nice walk along Charles Bridge where I caught my first sight off the stunning illuminated buildings along the river.

On the way back to the apartment, we also saw many stunning buildings.

It was a perfect night to start my visit to Prague.
